چکیده
The objective of this work was to evaluate the losses in process, survival, uniformity and growth during an entire short rotation a clonal planting Eucalyptus grandis x urophylla Brazil as function different morphological characteristics seedlings considered proxy seedling quality. Seedlings were classified descending order quality by following treatments: A > B C. Treatment D composed prime 180 days old nursery. experienced mortality rate 3% 30 after planting, while C showed 8%. Throughout treatment had highest total 24%, which 15% higher than average other three treatments. seedlings, determined IQD, positively correlated with stem diameter, leaf biomass, PH50 at 60 age. However, these relationships lost significance later ages, DQI could not explain variation volume stand (PV50) along rotation. Despite early differences, from 36 64 months, only (Treat. D) difference wood

Growth promotion mediated by endophytic fungi in cloned seedlings of Eucalyptus grandis x Eucalyptus urophylla hybrids
Eucalyptus cultivation has expanded considerably in Brazilian systems, leading to the current search for technologies to optimize growing conditions and the production of seedlings in nurseries. Based on the understanding that the development of tree species such as Eucalyptus sp. can be influenced by endophytic fungi that act directly as plant growth-promoting species, cloned seedlings of Euca...
متن کاملPhase change-related variations of dome shape in Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis shoot apical meristems
Shoot apical meristem (SAM) domes derived from five different outdoor and in vitro sources of juvenile and mature Eucalyptus urophylla x Eucalyptus grandis akin genotypes were compared. Overall measurements of SAM dome height H and diameter D ranged from 2 to 35 μm and 20 to 80 μm, notwithstanding significant differences according to the various physiological origins of plant material investiga...
متن کاملGenetic control of Eucalyptus urophylla and E. grandis resistance to canker caused by Chrysoporthe cubensis
Chrysophorte cubensis induced canker occurs in nearly all tropical and subtropical regions where eucalypts are planted, causing losses in both wood quality and volume productivity, especially so in the warmer and more humid regions of Brazil. The wide inter and intra-specific genetic variability of resistance to canker among Eucalyptus species facilitates the selection of resistant plants. In t...

متن کاملA Newly Identified Passive Hyperaccumulator Eucalyptus grandis × E. urophylla under Manganese Stress
Manganese (Mn) is an essential micronutrient needed for plant growth and development, but can be toxic to plants in excess amounts. However, some plant species have detoxification mechanisms that allow them to accumulate Mn to levels that are normally toxic, a phenomenon known as hyperaccumulation. These species are excellent candidates for developing a cost-effective remediation strategy for M...
